Let’s face it, if you look hard enough, you’ll probably find a cut close to what you need, but let’s take a look at why you should consider a custom cut as opposed to finding something that works and throwing part of it away.

Scraps, Scraps Everywhere!

Woodworkers know that eventually, if they wait long enough, that they will need that tiny little scrap that they saved from Grandma Elizabeth’s Christmas present they made 20 years ago. Yah right! Space is a premium in most wood shops and unless you make small games or mouse furniture, you will probably never find a use for it, except maybe to shim that new piece of equipment that doesn’t sit quite level.

Shipping is Expensive

If you order your wood supply through the mail you know how expensive shipping is. Most services calculate the cost not only by size, but also weight. Why pay more to ship cutoffs?

We Are Cutting the Wood Anyway

We are already cutting the wood anyway. We are cutting the same size and shapes time after time. We don’t mind changing it up a little!

No Extra Charge

We don’t charge extra for cutting. Why would we charge extra to do something we are doing anyway? Chances are we probably have what you need but don’t have it listed because we like to keep our website easy to use and focused on the most popular cuts.

Our Personal Approach to E-Commerce Wood Sales

While we can’t possibly keep every thickness or length in stock, we can certainly see if we can find the size you need at our supply mill (if we don’t already have it here). Sometimes we cannot find it but when we can, we love to match woodworkers with exactly what they are looking for! So, feel free to message us about your favorite size, let us know what you like, and we will keep our eyes open in case that special piece of wood makes it into our shop!

We have recently started a member-only group. It doesn’t cost anything to join and we will list unusual and one-of-a-kind pieces of wood. They will vary in shapes and sizes but will be pieces that due to their size or limited quantity would never be listed on our website otherwise.
